Diagnocat’s STL report feature transforms CBCT data into dynamic, segmented 3D models that streamline surgical planning and wow patients! Here's how to make the most of it.
1. Create an STL Report
- Go to Create AI Report and select 3D Model.
- Choose the desired study, click Order, and your report will be ready in just a few minutes.
2. Explore the 3D Model
- The AI-generated model includes detailed segmentation of: teeth, jaws, sinuses, canals and soft tissue.
- Use the structure list on the left to:
- Toggle visibility

- Adjust transparency

- Change display colors
You can customize your view to isolate key anatomy for your case.
3. Using MPR Mode (Multiplanar Reconstruction)
- View anatomy slice by slice with color-coded segmentation borders.
- To scroll through slices simply hold Control and use your mouse wheel or trackpad. This tool is ideal for real-time internal anatomy review.
4. Settings Panel Overview
- Located in the top-left corner
- Allows you to:
- Hide/show anatomical structures

Customize your display for clinical accuracy or clear patient presentations.
5. Measure with our Smart Ruler
- Use the ruler tool in either 3D or MPR views
- Measure distances in millimeters with precision, making it an ideal tool for implant or surgical planning
6. Viewing Advanced Anatomical Details
- Segmentation includes: pulp chambers and root canal fillings to help in both endodontic and restorative evaluations.
7. Pathology Filters for Focused Analysis
- Access filters at the top:
- Perio – bone loss

- Restorative – restorations
-
- Endo – endodontic findings
Note that the Perio filter uses a gradient scale to display bone loss by 1mm increments, across 6 points (3 buccal + 3 lingual per tooth).
You may hover over a colored region for condition details and precise measurements.
8. Clinical Applications
- Toggle filters on/off as needed
- Great for implant planning, periodontal case work and patient education. Diagnocat’s clear visuals help patients easily understand their condition.
9. Exporting the STL Files
- Click Export (bottom-left)
- A ZIP archive will download containing all STL files
- Compatible with major 3D printing software and treatment planning platforms. You may also easily share with labs or surgical teams to enhance collaboration.
